AK2 is the basic English Translation writing course, worth four ECTS
credits with evaluation by number grade. Grades are based on an
autobiography, directions letter, job application letter, personal
résumé, recommendation letter and at least one free-form
writing, plus a pass/fail exam on punctuation, layout and writing
standards and citations. A second free-form may be submitted for
(additional) averaging into the final grade. In grade averaging, somewhat
more weight will be given to the autobiography, free-form(s), and
directions letter, as examples of ability to write freely in English.
All work must be submitted as printouts which follow the English
Section Layout Guidelines. Assignments should be
submitted by the due dates. Timeliness is important; the schedule is
designed so that previous work will be reviewed prior to the next due
date.
Students who receive grades lower than 3.0 on an assignment
should arrange a consultation on that assignment before doing the
next assignment. Up to two assignments may be "re-done"
at the student's discretion. In such cases the new version should be (a)
substantially different; and (b) the original version(s) must be submitted
together with the new one. Please see AK2 Class
Background for further detail.
