US-1 is a compulsory two ECTS-credit course (or four ECTS credits if an
optional short paper is also completed) for the ETRAN and FAST curricula.
A number grade will be given on the basis of the exam; those who complete
the [optional] paper will receive a grade averaged on the number grades
received for the exam and the paper.
Evaluation Options:
- For everyone, a 2-hour class exam on course materials (2 ECTS
credits);
- [Optional] A "short" (3-5 printed HTML pages with coding per the PK5 template) paper for 2 additional ECTS
credits, for a total of 4 credits). See Intro to
American English Paper Options for details on the papers. [NB:
students who choose the paper option must follow the specifications of PK6 Citations & Documentation and PK5
Digital Literacy.]
